Jenny and Charles were bringing together guests from China and Hong Kong, where they’ve currently settled, as well as Australia and the States where they respectively grew up. So it’s safe to say they had to put on a good show. One of the couples’ passions is entertaining, and food and drink was extremely important to them. They wanted to give their guests a full experience of a luxury wedding in Barcelona, so they kicked off their wedding weekend with welcome drinks at the emblematic Hotel W in Barcelona city, before whisking everyone off to a spectacularly glitzy venue for the glamorous day itself. The stunning images of 2 Brides capture the essence of the day to perfection. (And don’t forget to scroll to the bottom for the fab highlights video by Ankerprod). The couple were keen to incorporate various parts of Chinese tradition into the day. We started with the very fun challenges for the groom and groomsmen, dreamt up by the bridesmaids. This was followed by the traditional Chinese tea ceremony where both the bride’s and the groom’s parents symbolically pass their blessings on to the couple. Perfectly fusing both old and new customs, they also decided on a ‘first look’ before the rest of the guests arrived at the venue. Finca Mas Solers, their glamorous setting for their luxury wedding in Barcelona, was the perfect backdrop for this romantic moment. The spectacular venue is full of local history. The finca started it’s life as a private palace, and towards the end of the last century it was transformed into the Grand Casino of Barcelona.
Jenny chose a navy blue and gold palette, which really fitted with the ambience the couple wanted to create for their luxury wedding in Barcelona. The abundant florals in neutral tones also perfectly set off the opulent surroundings. Guests could not have been more pampered. Signature cocktails accompanied carefully selected Spanish canapes, all followed by a delicious four course meal. The celebration was full of thoughtful details such as cashmere throws for the October evening.
There were too many surprises to count during the day, but some of our standout moments were definitely the groom entering to the Game of Thrones theme tune, bridesmaids and groomsmen entering in pairs each to their own song handpicked by the couple, and how could we forget the most meticulously planned first dance of the year? Jenny wowed guests with a costume change into a red cocktail dress and the couple had learned a full tango choreography including spectacular swings and lifts. We absolutely loved the vision that this couple had for the day, and seeing it all come toether was extremely rewarding. The wedding party and the whole group of international guests were a dream to work with. And the worldclass team of vendors made this luxury wedding in Barcelona quite unforgettable.
