Most of our couples come to Barcelona especially for their big day, but Liz and Tony were actually fully fledged Barcelona residents when they decided on their Casa Felix wedding. They had moved to Barcelona from California the year before their wedding. They were keen to give their international guests a truly authentic experience of their new home. And with a beautiful Spanish masia as the setting, and a menu full of locally sourced produce, they certainly did it in style!
At Casa Felix weddings, we always start the ceremony late in the afternoon. That way, there’s plenty of time for the wedding party to relax and enjoy all the venue has to offer.
Liz and Tony also chose to do a first look, a custom which is becoming more and more popular. There was not a dry eye in the house amongst those of us who witnessed this truly special part of the day.
Food and wine were extremely important to Liz and Tony, so much so that wine became an unofficial theme for their Casa Felix wedding, both in the colour scheme and in some of the decorative elements, including a twist on a guest book – an antique wine barrel lid, hand stained and calligraphed, for guests to sign. Jewel tones on the dinner tables set off the wine-flavoured spectrum in the florals and stationery.
The menu couldn’t have been more fitting for a Casa Felix wedding. Art en Buff provided a delicious array of traditional Spanish cuisine, produced with the highest quality locally sourced ingredients. It was a day truly centred around what we think weddings were made for – eating, drinking and being merry!
